      IG’s office suggests towns have answered:1) Check whether the public procurement unit advertised the procurement in a relevant publication;2) Confirm that it used specific purchase descriptions in the solicitation;3) Ensure that it used a clear rule for award or determination of best value in the solicitation;4) Confirm that it used an appropriate comparative evaluation process for choosing vendors; and5) Confirm that it provides for renewed competition on a regular basis.
