The Town of Chilmark operates and maintains three beaches for the enjoyment of Chilmark homeowners, their guests and tenants: Menemsha, Lucy Vincent and Squibnocket.
Menemsha is open to the public with free parking. No permit is required. Both Lucy Vincent and Squibnocket beaches are open only to Chilmark homeowners, their guest and tenants for the summer season. At Lucy Vincent beach, the permit for parking or for Walk-on access has a season of June 1 to September 15. For Squibnocket beach, the permit for parking or for Walk-on access has a season of June 15th to Labor Day.
Parking at these beaches is possible only with a Sticker on the window of the car. The driver and all passengers do not need any further identification to go to each beach. Walk-on access is possible only with a Walk-on pass for that pass holder, two adults, and all children under 12. There is a maximum of four (4) Walk-on Passes issued per house.
Homeowners shall notify the Beach Sticker Office of the exact date their first renter will arrive. If a homeowner purchases a beach sticker for the season, it will prohibit their renter to obtain a beach sticker unless the owners end date is on the sticker or the sticker is returned to the Beach Sticker Office. Reminder — only one sticker for each beach per household.
Walk on passes are good for both Lucy Vincent Beach and Squibnocket Beach.
Both Stickers and passes can be purchased at the beach Sticker office at Chilmark Town Hall at Beetlebung Corner from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. seven days a week from June 1 to September 15.
