The Chilmark Energy Committee, appointed by The Board of Selectmen, is an advisory group to the select board and the town at large focused on municipal and community-wide energy issues. These include energy efficiency and resiliency and the transition to renewable energy.
Current activities include:
- Leading the effort to achieve town acceptance as a Massachusetts Green Community
- Advising the selectmen and the Up Island Regional School District on the refurbishment and upgrade of the Chilmark School HVAC system
- Developing a policy and plan for electric vehicles and charging stations for town vehicles
