FIRE CHIEF
The Town of Chilmark is seeking applications for the position of Fire Chief. The successful applicant will possess proven management and communication skills, in addition to extensive fire service experience. This is a benefitted, year-round, salaried/exempt 2,088+ hours/year contract position. Certifications: FI/II, First Responder, CPR. Salary to be negotiated based on skills and experience $110,000 - $135,000. Part-time Library Circulation Assistant

Initial rate of pay: HOURLY Step E, Grade 1-3: $28.68/HR-$30.13/HR
Hours: at the Director’s discretion, no more than 20 hours per week
Summary of Duties: As the main contact with the public on the circulation desk at the Chilmark Library, the Circulation Assistants help the public with requests, check materials in and out, offer technical support and enforce library policies in a friendly and personable manner. They will help maintain the library collection, and will perform routine administrative functions as assigned.
Requirements:
- Become proficient in using the library’s Integrated Library System (Koha), Online Public Access Catalog (Aspen) and digital lending app (Libby) in all circulation desk functions including requesting and loaning items; registering new library patrons; updating patron records; receiving and discharging items returned; receiving and logging fines; creating digital lending accounts; and accessing digital subscriptions and databases.
- Serve the public courteously and maintain confidentiality of patron records and interactions.
- Shelve materials, maintain the collection through inventory and weeding and maintain orderly appearance of the library.
- Educate library users about library resources, including digital collections, databases, and online resources available inside and outside of the library.
- Technical proficiency to assist patrons in use of public access computers, scanners and printers as well as e-book and electronic audio book downloading and use.

The Select Board is seeking a qualified applicant to fill the position of Town Accountant. This is a management level position that maintains the financial and fiscal records/systems of the town, ensures financial integrity of the town, institutes proper departmental policies, reconciles municipal funds, prepares financial reports, and assists with the annual budget and town meeting process. Chief of Police
The Town of Chilmark is accepting applications for Chief of Police. The Chief will report to Select Board and direct a department comprised of 5 full-time, 3 part-time year-round officers and 2 summer officers. The Chief is final authority on policy, operations, and discipline. The new Chief will build profound respect among our small town’s diverse constituencies and will understand “keeping the peace” is paramount. The current chief has smoothly and effectively carried out his law enforcement responsibilities by being an outstanding leader and intimately knowledgeable about people, traditions and customs of the community. Successful applicant will be held to the highest performance standards, prepared to immediately take charge, possess inherently strong interpersonal/leadership skills, courteous, pleasant and approachable, prepared to apply full energy towards enhancing police operations. Position is responsible for providing administrative support to the Board of Health as well as performing or assisting with site visits and inspections conducted outside of the office. Training, education and certifications are available and required to support work in topic areas under the jurisdiction of the Board of Health. Must be able to work independently and perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Lifeguards – All three town beaches, must have current training certificate.
