Seeking applications for Assistant Harbor Master, Traffic Control Supervisor, Assistant Wharfinger, Traffic Officer (20 hours/week PD), Circulation Assistant (library) Lifeguards, Beach Guards, Parking Attendants, Town Office Intern and Sticker Clerk positions for the summer season.
Traffic Control Supervisors will assist the Harbormaster in regulating and controlling the roadways of Menemsha village, motor vehicle traffic flow, vehicle parking regulations, and supervision and direction of all Harbor Department employees assigned to traffic control and parking responsibilities. Assistant Wharfingers’ primary responsibility will be traffic control within Menemsha Village, secondarily assist in waterside operations of Menemsha Harbor. An Assistant Wharfinger assigned to traffic control patrols on foot in an assigned area. They enforce parking regulations; issue warnings or parking tickets for illegal parking, direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic at a specific intersection or other specified location. TOWN ACCOUNTANT:

The Select Board is seeking a qualified applicant to fill the position of Town Accountant.  This is a management level position that maintains the financial and fiscal records/systems of the town, ensures financial integrity of the town, institutes proper departmental policies, reconciles municipal funds, prepares financial reports, and assists with the annual budget and town meeting process. This position requires a willingness to learn, to work proactively with others, the ability to schedule tasks, as well as good communication and interpersonal skills.  Knowledge of municipal finance is preferred.  Salaried Exempt position.  40 hours a week. $91,000 – 97,000 start. 75% health and life insurance. BOARD ADMINISTRATOR:

CHILMARK is seeking an extremely well-qualified applicant to fill a Board Administrator position. This is a professional level position with often complex duties and assignments that provide administrative support to multiple boards (Conservation, Community Preservation, Cemetery, Park & Recreation), the Town Administrator, and general administrative support to Town and public. 22-24 hours/week. FULL TIME FACILITIES MANAGER:

Responsible for the maintenance of town buildings/properties, supervise part-time employee and contractors, evaluate facility maintenance needs, plan for short and long term projects, write scope of work statements, seek internal funding and solicit quotes for services and supplies, and supervise facility contractors. Chief of Police

The Town of Chilmark is accepting applications for Chief of Police. The Chief will report to Select Board and direct a department comprised of 5 full-time, 3 part-time year-round officers and 2 summer officers. The Chief is final authority on policy, operations, and discipline. The new Chief will build profound respect among our small town’s diverse constituencies and will understand “keeping the peace” is paramount. The current chief has smoothly and effectively carried out his law enforcement responsibilities by being an outstanding leader and intimately knowledgeable about people, traditions and customs of the community. Successful applicant will be held to the highest performance standards, prepared to immediately take charge, possess inherently strong interpersonal/leadership skills, courteous, pleasant and approachable, prepared to apply full energy towards enhancing police operations. Required skills/credentials include Massachusetts Municipal Police Training certification POST, First Responder/CPR certification or the ability to obtain such certifications within 6 months. Applicants must possess: either BA or 2 years college combined with technical training e.g. Police Academy, FBI, professional education courses including business, public administration or management, minimum of 5 years’ experience supervising municipal employees, ability to apply federal, state statutes, town bylaws to law enforcement, sound judgment, initiative, knack to communicate effectively with town officials/employees, federal/ state officials, general public. Salary range $120,000 – 150,000/year. Administrator/Inspector

Chilmark is seeking to fill the position of Board of Health Administrator/Inspector.  Position is responsible for providing administrative support to the Board of Health as well as performing or assisting with site visits and inspections conducted outside of the office.  Training, education and certifications are available and required to support work in topic areas under the jurisdiction of the Board of Health.  Must be able to work independently and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.  Must have: knowledge, judgment and skills regarding serving the public, applying standard office practices, strong writing and verbal communication skills and be proficient in spreadsheets and data management.  This is a year-round 35 hr/wk position with full benefits. LOCAL BUILDING INSPECTOR

The town is seeking to hire a Local Inspector deemed qualified and certified by the BOCC pursuant to MGL C.143 s. 3 and 780 CMR, 15 hours a week, $27 - $32/hr. will include the processing of applications for plumbing/gas/electrical permits. BEACH DEPARTMENT SUMMER 2022

Beach Sticker Clerk – 6 to 7 days a week selling beach stickers at Town Hall.  8:30 to 1:00 Minimum requirement:   basic computer, financial, and customer service skills. Must be available full season June 1st -September 15th.   Training hours last week of May.

Lifeguards – All three town beaches, must have current training certificate.

Starting Rates $18.61 -$24.39

Parking Guards 14 years or older, Gate Guard must have First Aid and CPR
