To all Employers and Businesses on Martha’s Vineyard:

We would like to let you know about the upcoming Pop-Up, Walk-In VACCINATION CLINIC which will be held at the CHILMARK COMMUNITY CENTER on Tuesday, June 22nd, from 9:30am to 12:30pm.

If your staff are not yet fully-vaccinated, this is a great opportunity:  The MV Hospital will provide “one-and-done” Johnson & Johnson or Pfizer vaccine.  In addition, of course, the Hospital will continue to provide vaccination by appointment, including any second doses.  Make an appointment by calling (508) 684 - 4500.

According to State requirements, employers must provide paid leave for employees to get vaccinated and for any needed recovery from side effects.  This paid leave will be reimbursed by the state.  https://www.mass.gov/info-details/covid-19-temporary-emergency-paid-sick-leave-program#reasons-for-leave-

And here is what you get in return:

  • if one of your workers tests positive for COVID this summer, their close contacts do not need to quarantine for a minimum of seven days: in other words, a case of COVID will not shut down your business for a week in the middle of the summer.
  • you provide greater safety both for your workers and for the public they serve.
  • we reduce COVID transmission on Martha’s Vineyard to the best of our ability, even while hosting tens of thousands of summer residents and visitors.

We all need a safe, strong and active summer!  Vaccination is our most powerful tool to get that.

PS:  PLEASE PASS THE WORD!  Word of mouth is still the best way to get the word out on MV!!  All persons above 12 years of age are eligible.  They don't have to live here: if they are human, they are susceptible to COVID and we would like them to be vaccinated.
