Passing of Town Board Member and former MV Commission Appointee Jane (Jennie) Appleton Greene

The Town of Chilmark mourns the passing of Jane (Jennie) Appleton Greene, longtime Human Resource Board member and election officer and former town appointee to the MV Commission.

Jennie was an active, engaged and dedicated member of the HR Board and the MVC for many years. Jennie served as the Town's appointee to the MV Commission from 1994-2003, was a member of the Town's Human Resource Board for 24 years, from the year 2000 to this present year, and served as an election officer for the last 17 years.

She was always an active participant in meetings, served multiple years as chairperson of the HR Board, and played an important role in the development of key Town bylaws and procedures. Jennie was exceptionally committed to public service and provided calm, steady and faithful leadership to the Town for many years. She will be missed.
