Chilmark Neighbors
Chilmark neighbors are working with our town officials to create a helpful network of support in this time of isolation and uncertainty. Our idea is an email link and a hotline set up with voicemail, to record all calls. You will be called back by a volunteer to confirm your call has been received and acted upon.
The email/hot line will help our community to get:
- Access to food, drug or other necessities through delivery or pickups
- Access to social opportunities through Zoom/phone such as virtual book groups, “Zoomtail” parties, etc.
- Video and/or phone check-ins, especially to those alone
- Access to outside services such as trash pick-up, wood cutting, etc.
- Connections to island social services for food, financial or other needs
- More services to be determined
Our first step is creating a master list of all people in Chilmark who are sheltering in place. We will use this list only to respond to your requests, and to assist the town in supplying essential or emergency services. We will not share any information other than with the Town of Chilmark.
