What programs does the library offer?

There are programs year-round for both adults and children.

For youth, there is Saturday Stories at 10:30 a.m. for about an hour. In July and August there is a live storyteller. September through June there are stories with music. Sandpipers toddler time for children ages 0-3 each Tuesday 10:30-11:00 a.m. During the school year, we have the after-school crafts program for grade-schoolers on Wednesdays from 3-4 p.m. The teen/young adult group meets from 5-6 p.m. on the last Wednesday of each month.

For adults, the book groups are on hiatus.

Poetry readings by local poets and the film-maker forum for local film-makers meet occasionally. Call the library for specific dates. People are welcome to bring their works or just observe.

The Investment Club meets on the Third Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. Visitors are welcome.

The evening lecture series is sponsored by the Friends of the Chilmark Library, and meets between one and six times on Wednesday and Thursday evenings each month. These programs include author talks, informative and entertaining lectures, slide shows, and the chef series.
