The deadline for receipt of a VBM or mailed Absentee Ballot application, to apply to be mailed an Annual Town Election ballot, is April 22, 2026, 5PM. Your application can only be accepted if it has reached the Town Hall office by the deadline. The VBM online application portal is monitored daily to receive applications submitted via the online application.

If you prefer to apply on a paper application, you may access a PDF of a mailed ballot application HERE. You may mail, scan/photo and email or drop off the paper application at Chilmark Town Hall to the Clerk Dept. Paper applications are also available at the Town Hall and you may apply in person before the deadline on April 22, 2026 at 5PM.

To ensure that you receive your ballot with enough time to mail it back, you should apply 2-3 weeks before Election Day. Please feel free to email or telephone the Chilmark Town Clerk at townclerk@chilmarkma.gov 508-645-2107 to confirm our receipt of your USPS mailed ballot application or a faxed ballot application.

VBM applications may be submitted by mail (Chilmark Town Clerk, P.O. Mailed Ballot applications that are submitted are processed promptly and the ballot is usually mailed by the end of the next business day. You may track your mailed ballot HERE.
