What is a Home Energy Assessment?

Cape Light Compact’s No-Cost Home Energy Assessment connects you with an Energy Specialist. Your Energy Specialist will evaluate your entire home from the attic to the basement, identifying energy efficiency opportunities that will directly help reduce energy usage, increase year-round comfort, and create a healthier environment for homeowners and renters alike. The Compact offers both in-person and virtual assessments.

Just Announced: Two additional seasonal promotional offers that are now live for the Compact’s Residential Single Family (1-4 unit) Market Rate Program.

Both offers use customer self-attestation to establish eligibility, which is the same mechanism we currently use to qualify moderate-income customers for 100% off weatherization recommendations at the point of the Home Energy Assessment. Please see below for information on the two additional seasonal promotions:

Active or Retired K-12 Teacher Offer:

• Offer: 100% off weatherization recommendations from a Home Energy Assessment
• Eligibility: Established through customer self-attestation at the Home Energy Assessment
• Duration: Available for all newly scheduled Home Energy Assessments between now and September 30^th, 2026.
• Key Reminders:
  • Any weatherization contract proposed to these customers with the 100% offer must be signed by December 1^st, 2026.
  • Any weatherization contract signed in concurrence with our active Summer Sizzler Offer ($200 e-gift card) that runs through September 30^th, 2026, will also be eligible to receive a $200 e-gift card.

Active Service Member / Veteran Offer

• Offer: 100% off weatherization recommendations from a Home Energy Assessment
• Eligibility: Established through customer self-attestation at the Home Energy Assessment
• Duration: Available for all newly scheduled Home Energy Assessments between now and November 11^th, 2026 (Veteran’s Day)
• Key Reminders:
  • Any weatherization contract proposed to these customers with the 100% offer must be signed by December 1^st, 2026.
  • Any weatherization contract signed in concurrence with our active Summer Sizzler Offer ($200 e-gift card) that runs through September 30^th, 2026, will also be eligible to receive a $200 e-gift card.
