Vote By Mail Is Available for the April 26, 2023 Annual Town Election

On June 22, 2022, an election reform law titled “The VOTES Act” was signed into law. This new law made no-excuse Voting By Mail available to voters for all local elections in addition to State elections.

The Town of Chilmark's Annual Town Election (ATE) is scheduled to occur on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, with polls open from 12PM-8PM. This annual town election is two days after the scheduled Annual Town Meeting on Monday, April 24, 2023, 7:30PM. Both will occur at the Chilmark Community Center at 520 South Road in Chilmark.

Access and download the Official Vote By Mail (VBM) Application HERE. Using this application, you may apply to be mailed a ballot for All Elections in 2023 or a specific election. If you are applying to VBM for only the upcoming 2023 spring Annual Town Election, you may enter the specific date of that election: April 26, 2023. ATE Ballots will be available to be mailed to VBM applicants by March 31, 2023, but you may apply to be mailed a 2023 ATE ballot at any time up until April 19, 2023, 5PM.

Completed and signed VBM applications may be returned to the Town Clerk via the mail to P.O. Box 119, Chilmark, MA, 02535, via the drop boxes outside of the main door at Town Hall at 401 Middle Road, scanned and emailed to townclerk@chilmarkma.gov or faxed to 508-645-2110. Voters may also visit Town Hall during regular business hours to apply in person.
