Important 2023 Annual Town Meeting & Election Voter Information

The Chilmark Annual Town Meeting and Election will occur on the last Monday and Wednesday in April:

Annual Town Meeting: Monday, April 24, 2023, 7:00PM at the Chilmark Community Center, 520 South Road, Chilmark, MA 02535

Annual Town Election: Wednesday, April 26, 2023,  polls open 12NOON to 8PM, at the Chilmark Community Center, 520 South Road, Chilmark, MA 02535

The Last Day to Register to Vote or change your voter registration information, in order to vote at the Annual Town Meeting and Election, is Friday, April 14, 2023. Check to confirm your voter registration information HERE. In person registration on the last day to register (April 14) is from 9-11AM and 3-5PM, at the Chilmark Town Hall, 401 Middle Road. You may also register to vote or change your voter registration by following the link HERE.

Vote By Mail (VBM) IS AVAILABLE TO ALL REGISTERED VOTERS for the Annual Town Election. Please go HERE to apply to Vote By Mail through an ONLINE module and HERE to access a pdf of a VBM application. The deadline for receipt of a VBM application, to apply to be mailed an Annual Town Election ballot, is April 19, 2023, 5PM.

The 2023 Chilmark Annual Town Election specimen ballot will be available by the last week in March. VBM & Absentee Ballots are planned to be mailed by April 3, 2023. Track your mailed ballot HERE.

Any written request with your signature is an acceptable application. You can simply write a signed letter to your local election office to apply for your ballot.

Applications can be submitted by mail, email, fax, or into either of the two Town Hall building drop boxes, but they must include a signature that can be compared to your hand-written signature. Electronic signatures, scanned applications, and photos of applications are acceptable.
