Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) for Duke’s County

Report is now available.
MV Commission

Martha’s Vineyard Commission has contracted SWCA Environmental Consultants to develop a Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) for Duke’s County.

A CWPP is used to identify and mitigate wildfire hazards to communities. The 2021 CWPP builds on these collaborative efforts to reduce wildfire risk by reviewing and identifying new priority areas for wildfire protection efforts.

The Report is now available.  This plan assesses risk across Dukes County into four tiers, and include a series of recommendations to dial back our vulnerability.

Please consider attending one of our Public Information Sessions on either September 24th at noon or September 30th at 5 pm.  MVC's calendar will contain the Zoom details in the days leading up to the meetings.

In addition to Public Information sessions this month, the survey below is a primary communication tool to gather community input that will assist with implementation efforts ahead. The survey can be found at the following path. Please use the provided survey to leave your comments: https://forms.office.com/r/hbGrtha9PE

For any other questions or concerns, please contact Special Projects Planner, Dan Doyle at doyle@mvcommission.org  or 508-338-7316 for more information.
