Before putting your mooring tackle in the water please contact the Harbormaster’s Office to have it inspected.
PLEASE OBSERVE ALL SPEED LIMITS - AS NOTED IN THE CHILMARK WATERWAYS RULES AND REGULATIONS - FOR THE VARIOUS WATER BODIES. SWIMMING AND PASSIVE RECREATIONAL USE OF THE WATERWAYS ARE ENCOURAGED - UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE EXPERIENCING AND INCREASING NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT CARELESS USE OF PERSONAL WATERCRAFT AND POWER BOATS.
ALL MOORINGS MUST BE REMOVED ANNUALLY BY THE FIRST OF NOVEMBER, TO ALLOW FOR SHELLFISHING.
For Mooring Permit applications and Slip Lease forms please contact the Harbormaster’s Office at (508) 645-2100 ext. 2846 and we will provide you with the appropriate information and forms.
All requests to be added to the Mooring Permit waiting or Slip Lease waiting list must be made by letter, which can be mailed or hand delivered to the Town Hall. Requests for slips must reference a specific harbor location (please see descriptions in Section VI of the Rules and Regulations. Complete and accurate information and timely filings will keep you on the appropriate list. Please note that without accurate winter and summer contact information it is impossible to contact applicants. Providing this information to the harbormaster's office is the responsibility of the applicant.
Mooring Permits and Mooring Permit Waiting List renewal forms as well as Slip Lease forms will be mailed out November 14, 2018 and will be due by 5:00 p.m. on January 15, 2019. All renewals must be made in writing and received by mail or hand delivery. Mooring Permit renewal forms must be accompanied by a check in the amount indicated on your renewal form.
