Chilmark Beach Committee
November 16th, 2010
Present: Clarissa Allen, Pam Bunker, Kristin Maloney, Wayne Iacono & Steve Mcquiggan
Meeting called to order 5:10 pm
Voted to approve the minutes from September 21st, 2010.
The Chairman met with the Town Accountant about the budget to see how much we have for the rest of FY2011 for start up this coming summer.
The Chairman reviewed w/ the Committee the remaining budget.
The committee voted to postpone until next meeting reviewing of job descriptions.
Discussion on start-up procedures before the beach opens & closing procedures, discussion about starting on June 1st instead of before, closing of the beaches being done by Sept. 30th.
Beach committee discussed the staffing for the sticker clerk office. Since the mail in program will be discontinued for the upcoming 2011 season, two sticker clerks for the 1st month or as needed & hours of operation to be open from 9:00am. To 1:00 pm. This will increase the sticker clerk’s hours from 8:30am.-12:30pm to 1:30 pm. This change will be in the proposed FY2012 budget.
Committee needs to find out from the Superintendent about ordering the boardwalk this spring, how much? & how long will it take to arrive after ordering.
The Committee requests Jim Glavin’s bill for removal of the Squibnocket stairs to budget for FY2012 installing and removal of stairs.
Next meeting will be Tuesday December 7th, 2010 at 5:00pm.
